say yes to integration, no to assimilation!
last week they dyed the chicago river neon green for st. patrick's day. i was out and about, taking in the sights of irish-americana, when i came across my worst [assimilationist] nightmare: an extremely obese desi strutting across michigan ave in an ill fitting green "irish pride" shirt, drowning in layers of green mardi gras beads, and carrying one of those monsterous supersized sodas from mcdonalds. people like him are supposed to be white and live in wisconsin, not be brown and live in america's third largest city. i can only hope he was adopted--hai ram, please let my future kids not grow up to be that kind of american.
