lol i wish. there were lots of stars, it looked very happening. i don't know if you northies ever watch regional cinema, but rajni kanth was in this really awesome telugu psychological-thriller [so rare for any indian movie] this past summer, "chandramukhi." it's a remake of a malu movie from the 80's. the plot is about the ghost of a bharatanatyam dancer/medieval queen that haunts this old mansion and wreaks familial discord and havok. it's twisted, suspenseful, and the bharatanatyam sequences are *so* good, you would really enjoy it!

if i can find it in ireland with subtitles, i will watch it with cloud. actually, no, he's afraid of anything bhooth oriented.. nice bn sequences. mmm, something to look forward to.
yea, they wear chandra surya etc at most telugu weddings, the thanjavur style is just the pinacle of that i think. she was so pretty and so traditional! i reccommend looking at the other pics, her outfits are all stunning. hyderabadis have a lot of north indian customs in their weddings. they do baaraat, have the thrones, she wears red [as well as white like in a typical s. indo wedding], and the guy wears a turban + kurta. indian wedding customs are so interesting. i think mehendi is a new thing...at least to have it w/ the designs. i know my mom and aunts had it plain red at the finger tips and lined their feet. but now everyone seems to have pretty ornate patterns and many people add the pre-wedding mehendi party.
