brokeback to the future VS al jazeera!

oh man, these are so funny. especially brokeback to the future! it's amazing how much a soundtrack can affect the way you perceive the actions on screen.
brokeback to the future [really good]
top gun 2: brokeback squadron [tom cruise is so gay]

you know, i never connected the fact that ang lee was also the director who did the wedding banquet. it's the story of a gay taiwanese-american who orchestrates a marriage of convenience in an attempt to cover up the long term relationship he's been having with a white guy from his extremely traditional old country parents--and the hilarity/disaster that inevitably ensue. that movie hit home for me a LOT more than brokeback mountain. i don't really understand all this hype about brokeback. i thought it was okay, but certainly not amazing...or even ground breaking. but oh, jake gyllenhal, what a babe!

and:
iran renames danish pastries--i love al-jazeera b/c they always have these little digs at the US. so you're reading this article and you're thinking, yea that's so stupid, those iranians are so dumb, and then at the very end a small caveat about american "liberty fries" is abruptly inserted. al-jazeera english is awesome and i recommend it to anyone looking for non-american news sources.

and:
wedad's cavalry is a really interesting story about saudi women and sex.

finally:
i'm so postmodern i recite shakespeare at KFC drive thru's,
through a megaphone,
in sign language.
