Title: Weeks Pairing: Rimmer/Lister Rating: PG-13 Disclaimer: Guess what? I don't own Red Dwarf or make any money from this. Who knew? Spoilers: Ouroboros. Notes: Written for the fanfic100 challenge - my table is here.
I like how everyone is just a little bit off. Lister more pliable, Rimmer a little too incautious. It sounds like a parallel universe to me!
What kind of woman dumps a man, then takes his pet away, for smeg's sake? Not for the first time, Lister wished he had a bunkmate he could actually talk to and get some empathy from.
Aww.
the insufferable digital git almost reported me for insubordination. To a computer!
Holly love.
Oh my god, you did! You though I wanted to shag ya!
In his dreams... well, maybe.
With a glare Lister was sure could have killed, had it not been for the wetness in the eyes that was giving it
Awww.
How should I know what gay people do; what they feel - it's not like I'm gay!
Oh dear.
It's not like I spend my time lusting after the people I share a room with; hoping I'll catch them coming back from the showers, because sometimes they don't dry themselves properly, and their shirts get a little wet, so you can see their nipples, and the water's cold, so they sort of stand...Oh dear
( ... )
Lister giving Rimmer a number? How could I not fic from that... And we know so little about that Rimmer too. Well, we know he was desperately trying to persuade Lister that dating Kochanski was a bad idea. And that he was thrilled to hear they'd broken up.
And yeah; I'd say his pliable. Hence Kochanski could mould him. That, and the whole pesky incorporeality thing. Urg. The bad, bad bunnies I have for that.
And there is something there with the Kochanski disk parallel... We'll see if I can't fit that in somewhere. :)
Ahaha. Yes, your Rimmer is really good so I thought he sounded a bit off in this story. Deffo parallel universe. I love these sorts of gapfillers, although it makes me wonder. Why did Kochanski choose Lister to resurrect? It wouldn't be Holly reviving him because they didn't know each other the most of anyone else, and if Kochanski wanted a lover she probably would've chosen the infamous Tim.
Yes, your Rimmer is really good so I thought he sounded a bit off in this story. Aw, I'm glad you think so. :) Erm, that he's usually good, not that he was off. But you know what I mean. Yes.
I think Holly did choose Lister for this Kochanski. I'm thinking what kept her sane was trying to make him into what she felt was a better person...
I meant that your Rimmer usually sounds like the Rimmer in the show, and he didn't in this, so... ugh, it's too confusing. I'll need diagrams and laser pointers to understand it myself. It was meant to be a compliment, I swear!
Well, yes, I suppose for Kochanski keeping sane by moulding the holoLister into a "better person" was a bit like Rimmer nitpicking at Lister's habits. It keeps all of them sane, but only one of them happy.
It keeps all of them sane, but only one of them happy. Oh, well put! I've probably asked you this before, but do you write? You have an excellent way with language...
