roadstergal's
R and R, right after Colin walked in on Rimmer with the Cat, he returned to his room and talked to Ryan.
roadstergal left out that conversation, so I took the plotbunny and ran with it. This is the final piece in the Red Dwarf/Whose Line crossover saga, unless another plotbunny comes up. Enjoy!

Colin leaned on the door that led into the quarters he shared with Ryan and took a deep breath. Seeing the Cat with Rimmer had surprised him, but it had made sense when he thought about it. He just wished he had seen it sooner. Oh well. There was nothing he could do about it now, so he opened the door and entered the room.
“Ryan?” He was vaguely surprised to find Ryan in here. Ryan had been in the Red Dwarf’s rec room for the last few days, moping. Ryan looked up at him and frowned.
“Aren’t you supposed to be with the Cat?”
“I…He was with Rimmer.” Colin blushed at the memory, but didn’t look away from Ryan. “Did you know?”
Ryan looked away just as Colin saw something disturbing in those green eyes. He stepped forward, away from the door. “Ryan, did you?” He asked again.
Ryan sighed. “Colin, I.” He stopped, shook his head, and started again. “I kind of got drunk and askedRimmerforhelpbreakingyoutwoup.” Colin stared.
“What?”
“I was in the bar.”
“Yes.”
“Getting drunk.”
“Ryan…”
“I know you told me not to worry, but...” Ryan sighed again and shifted on the bunk. “I thought about it. I don’t think they wanted you to sleep with the Cat in exchange for helping us. It just didn’t make sense, so I asked Lister about it.”
Colin groaned. “What did he say?”
“You didn’t have to sleep with the Cat In fact, he was shocked by the suggestion.”
“Oh no.”
“Come here, Col.” Ryan held an arm out. Colin smiled tiredly and came to Ryan.
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. You didn’t know.”
“Yeah. Now, I thought I heard you mention Rimmer?”
“That was an accident. Before I thought of asking Lister, Rimmer came by…”
Colin sighed. “I think I know where this is going.”
“He offered to help me.”
“And you accepted.”
“I was drunk!” Ryan protested.
Colin smiled. “I’ve seen you drink, Ry. How long were you drinking?”
“Alright, alright. I was worried about you, okay? And he offered a way out, so I took it.” He scowled. “I shouldn’t have accepted. I should have known better!”
“You didn’t know him. You couldn’t have known what he would do.”
“I know his type. Little bastard. I was stupid.”
“And lovesick. Instead of being with you, I was off with a Cat.”
“It’s not your fault!”
Colin almost protested, but then he realized that this was going nowhere. They both had messed up, but thankfully it was something they could fix. He pulled Ryan closer to him. “Ryan?”
“Yeah?”
“Let’s drop it. You told Lister about the plan, right?”
“Yes.”
“He can deal with Rimmer. I’ll talk to the Cat tomorrow. For now, I want to make up to you.”
“I…Colin…I’m sorry.”
“I am too.”
Ryan grinned. “Now that that’s taken care of, let’s make up to each other.”
Colin pulled Ryan even closer and nuzzled his shoulder. “Yes.” He whispered.
Colin’s last conscious thought was the hope that they hadn’t kept Lister awake.
