I've never watched 'Bones'. I only see the last minute or so of it just before I get my 'Fringe' injection every week. And even I have seen that the UST on that show is so thick that one could cut the hormones with a scalpel.
Season 5 is just SO BAD. Like, one episode they investigate at a mental hospital, and I could barely get through it and wanted to puke afterward. I understand when regular shows get it wrong, but Brennan an anthropologist. And if she says psychology isn't a science one more time, I'm going to punch her in the face (and I LIKE her).
The UST used to be subtle and well done but now it's just really cheesy and lame. Admittedly, Booth know acknowledges that he's in love with her (after dreaming he was married to her). :|
1) You ignore Booth & Brennan's UST, and watch the other characters instead.
2) You especially watch for subtext for Booth/Sweets slash (not that that's anyone's OTP, but watching for it gives you something to look at besides the plot holes.)
3) You try to figure out what kind of not-Zach character could eventually fill the Zach-shaped hole in the series.
4) You remind yourself what a good thing it is that Brennan isn't closely involved with any children, and therefore Booth/Brennan can't happen unless Booth's kid moves far, far away first.
5) Every time Brennan says "psychology is not a science," take a drink. Every time she says "belief in god is delusional" or some variant, take a drink. Every time Angela says "feelings are important too," take a drink. Every time Booth says "that's part of the job," take a drink. By the time you're ready to smash your television over the bad UST, you're too drunk to find the hammer.
ahahahaha, yeah, I feel you. I've been watching Bones since day 1 since it has my David in it. To be honest, I love the Bones/Booth of it all, but the Hodgela of it all almost gave me heart failure.
I get through the UST since I love Brennan's constant smashing of religion. It makes my heart happy and I love Booth freak out and try to explain it all to her.
