Scanlation...ethics? question...
I was gifted by the very lovely and wonderful don_amoeba with a script for a prince of tennis doujinshi. This doujinshi has three parts. These parts are all interconnected and require the other to make sense of the whole thing.
One part of this doujinshi has already been scanlated. The very first part. The group that did it is defunct...actually, this is the only thing they ever did.
The translation is more or less accurate, but the spelling and grammar makes me cry. The newer translation is worded differently 90 percent of the time. The editing is...medicore...the blacks aren't true blacks, the screentone is boxy, the sfx aren't edited/translated, and the fonts are...ugly and hard to read in some places...there are gutter shadows, too.
Um..eh...nm...well, would it be bad for me to just scan my dj, do the whole thing, and release it as a complete entity?
eta: since it caused confusion...my choices are a)not to do the already done bit or b) do the already done bit with my scans and translation
