the wish i wish tonight

in Ottawa on a starry night, i had a place i could go to sit by the river in the dark and look up. there was still a bit of city glow, but it was away from most streetlights and only 20 min from my house. it maybe wasn't the smartest thing to do by myself, but it was quiet and in the country, so i felt safe there. i saw a firefly for the first time. i listened to the crickets and the lapping of the water, and i soaked up the sky.

i have no replacement for that, yet. there are some quiet spots in Waltham near the river that i've found on my bike, but they are still too close to the lights.

i found a park in the town of Harvard(near 2, W of 495), on a reservoir/lake, when i was visiting my ex last fall. but it's a bit far from my house, or even my work. and i discovered last fall that star-gazing near Boston involves a lot of airplanes. heh.

oh, i never posted about the wind from the weekend. i loved it :) as long as i'm not riding my bike, i love the energy in a stiff wind. it feels alive, like a gift, making everything dance. i really liked that about the playa, it comes with this constant *push*, things moving and changing and swirling.
