On the table

Feb 16, 2007 21:08

So I was offered an preliminary job interview today from a weekly community newspaper in Michigan as the editor-in-chief of that paper. (small paper, just me and one other guy as far as editorial staff) for a salary of $34,800 a year. That is a great offer. The thing is, I would have to let them know by MONDAY whether to proceed with the interview or just hire this other guy. The thing to that is.... if they hire me, they WANT me up there in three weeks. I can't do that physically. I don't know what to do. Do I want to go back at some point and see my family? Yes because all my older relatives are dying off and I want to see my grandma before she gets too much older plus I miss my bro and sis. Can I move in three weeks? Short answer... no. So i don't know what to do. It sucks. $34,000 is a long way from $22,000 a year. Needless to say there will be a lot of thinking this weekend.
Just wanted to let ya'll know, an offer IS on the table.
