NIGHTWISH in Concert!!! XDDD

Nov 07, 2007 10:42

[Edit: My bad! I've been spelling Tuomas's name wrong! ^^;; All fixed now!]

So I've always had "different" taste, so it's not unusual for me to go to concerts/plays/musicals alone. People in Southern California just don't seem to get the appeal of live theater, etc... the proximity of Tinsel Town being the cause of this miasma, no doubt.

But I, who ( Read more... )

Whoa! Rae-chan, you actually read through that entire thing?? You're so sweet~~ ^_____^ <3

So of course, here is "The Escapist"-- if you make an account on this fabulous website, you can download it too. If not, you can just listen to it here: http://www.esnips.com/doc/472af651-921e-4276-9b97-6c8b76140358/Nightwish---The-Escapist

Tell me what you think of it, ne? (and see if my screaming and whining wasn't justified~~ :D)

Definitely will do so when I get a chance. Is it free?

I really wish they'd perform at HoB over in Orlando, that would be awesome... I'll never forget getting so psyched about going to see AFI in concert there and then they ended up cancelling the tour... ::sigh::

It looks like we have very similar taste in music. I <3<3 Haikara, too... :3 I'm still adjusting to Annette, honestly... Tarja really had the kind of voice that blew me away, Like expecting scream-o J-Metal and getting Maki.... I'm only a moderate pop-fan in general. I've put DPP on background music as I'm working, but it just doesn't jump out like "Over the Hills" did (my first Nightwish song evar) and grab me unless I force myself to listen.... :( Maybe it'll get easier. The more I hear of Annette the more I like, so...... Right this second I'm diggin on the traditional sound of "Last of the Wilds".

Hey!! I love HaiKara, too!! :D Their mix of pop and rock with just a touch of rap is just right to me, too. ^__ ( ... )

You're a Nightwish fan?!! Wow! Thats makes both of us, :P!

I can't believe they're coming here this Sunday in Dallas, TX, sadly I won't be able to attend. :(

Great Review!

You're a Nightwish fan, too?? Yay!! I'm so happy to have a fellow fan to "talk shop" with! ^___^ What's your favorite song/album? As you can probably tell from my review, "Ghost Love Score" moves me like little else in this world does (and the first time I heard it, it was on this very powerful Saint Seiya AMV called "Saint and Gold Always 1"-- very awesome since the imagery matched the music so well. ^^ But I really like "The Escapist" and several other songs from the new album-- "Amaranth" and "Bye Bye Beautiful" are pretty awesome, too (and of course, "The Poet and the Pendulum" is just... KYAAAA!!).

Hey, you should try to go to the concert! Hearing their music live is amazing, and the band members are so fun. ^__^ (also, I'm very curious to see if the Set List changes at all from venue to venue...) The tickets were really cheap around here (only $30, even at the door!), so it probably will be the same over there, too.

Anyway, thanks so much for reading the whole, long thing! :D

I loved their album Once the most(its my mostly listened to album), and my favorite song(well its a long list to mention here), but Dark Chest Of Wonders, gets the most plays(well I loved the Tarja era).

Hmmm, I'll see if I can go to their concert but 100% Chance that I won't. :(

Wow, a Swedish fan-- I envy you so much! You guys in Scandanavia get all the big, outdoor NW concerts-- so lucky! :( I loved the intimate atmosphere at the Galaxy, but a song like "Ghost Love Score," for instance, deserves a massive stadium, pyrotechnics and open air glory!!

Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy the Dark Passion Play tour (I'm sure you will, actually), and I hope YOU, at least, will get to hear "The Escapist" live (since I didn't get to)... ^___~ Please be sure to tell us all about it!

Oh wow, I was jumping and crying when I read your super-long article about the Nightwish concert you attended! I admire your amazing memory and attention span, heh. I am a huge NW fan, though none of my friends are, and it would be a dream come true to see them live. Though, as a minor would it be hard to get in alone? The closest place on the DPP tour was Philly, but I missed it since I wasn't allowed to go on a 4-5 hour trip alone. Anyways, I'm super glad that you had a fantastic time - doesn't everyone? - and I'm happy to know that there are such enthusiastic fellow NW fans out there. (I found your post through your shameless pluggage at the NW forums) - I'm Sherry there. :)

Hi Sherry!

I'm not sure you'll be coming back here to see this reply, but just in case:

They actually carded us at the Galaxy Theater to ensure we were over 21 (and I don't think I look that young, so they must have been asking everyone). But the soccer mom I was talking to-- Lorraine-- said she was forced to come along as a chaperone because her son and his friend were both teenagers. So, you could definitely come, but you'd need an adult with you? =/

And I'm really glad you liked the review-- haha, didn't think ppl would find it too entertaining since it's long and talks about my personal experiences, so I was so surprised and flattered that you were moved. Yes, most DEFINITELY try to go to a live concert if NW is ever in your area-- you won't regret it! :D
