It's hitting theaters in Japan on November 3rd (why am I not there????) and it'll be called Death Note: The Last Name... very ominous, huh? (though those of us who are reading the manga know which name that will be, huh?) Still, the movie looks very exciting, and it shouldn't matter if you haven't watched the first movie (well, unless you haven't read the manga period). No, even if you haven't read the manga, you probably won't be hit with too many spoilers just watching a trailer.
I must say, Rem looks AWESOME! (yay CG Rem! <3) And is Naomi still alive? (or is that a new girl character they added for the movie?) It seems like movie 2 will cover Light and Misa's imprisonment period and the deal with the lost memories (and the big showdown in volume 7). It's a shame the Yotsuba Group businessman thing won't be covered (or so it appears from the trailer). That executive air that that arc lent was great, I thought. But anyway~~ man, wish I could watch at least the first DN movie... ^^;
