This chapter, like others, can stand alone, but if you're interested, previous chapters are here.

When Alistair emerged from his royal quarters in the morning and saw River waiting for him in the corridor, he tried to turn around and go right back in. )

Why was my first thoguht "Truly Maric's son, has a thing for elves"?

Very sweet, indeed.

Ha ha, because I was thinking that, too?

For some reason, I just always think Alistair belongs with an elf.

I have to agree. I've played an elf and a human, and I noticed that, even if I did the exact same thing for both, I get through the romance so much quicker with an elf. It's subconscious! ^_^

It just looks so darn cute ^_^

Same here. My Cousland playthrough just felt...mmm, not quite as right. Maybe it's because I felt fem!Cousland's life was a little too easy for her to really relate to Alistair. Perhaps if I tried an Amell...but, eh, if I'm going to play a mage, I'd rather play a Surana.

And all the elves that are meant for other romances seem to end up being stolen back by Alistair somehow.

I love River and Teagan being together but I hate seeing sad Alistair- although I loved how unselfish he was in this. And yes, Alistair belongs with an elf- the easiest romance I had with him was with my Dalish. Gerat job! :)

I know. I'm sorry. I've privately apologized to Alistair over and over in my head. But...sometimes we have to go through some pain before we find happiness, right? And I really do think Alistair would be that guy...the one who puts his loved ones' happiness before his own. I *was* aiming to inject some hope into this chapter, though. I don't see Alistair staying down.
