That's a good question...

[Awkward? Yes]

Uh, yeah, heh... H-hey, Emil.

[So much awkwardness.]

Um, well, at least you're back to normal?

Yeah, I'm glad that's over.

But, um... [He rubs the back of his neck, still embarrassed.] Thanks, Emil. For, you know, looking after me.

... R-Right. I didn't really do much though.

[You know, besides make you cry and just be awkward since he doesn't know how to take care of kids, at all.]

You still tried, right? You could've just left me alone.

I think it's a bit hard to imagine someone just leaving actually...

[Still was very weird and awkward though]

Good point. Still, I feel like I owe you one now.

It's fine, you don't need to owe me anything.

Maybe I don't need to, but I want to. That's what friends do, right?

[Friends? Please excuse the slight surprise at this, that was the last thing he thought Lloyd would say. Well, he's different from the one he knew but still really? Even if he was from the past and didn't have anything against this Lloyd, he was still the one that would kill his parents. But he is just so different from the one he saw back in-... So confused, conflicted, and just lost.

Don't mind Emil just looking at the screen for a brief moment before looking off to the side again]

... W-We're friends?

redcladidealist May 26 2011, 23:59:27 UTC
Well, yeah, sure. Why not?

[They haven't really talked, not as themselves, since that time after Emil had attacked Lloyd, but that had already been explained and forgiven.]

Besides, I promised I'd help you, right? It'd be pretty hard to do that if we were enemies.

[... Small moment of silence on his end as he processes that. He did say that, but it was still a bit hard to believe. Although, a part of him is just happy that he might have another friend, even if said friend is Lloyd. That small part that always wanted to have more friends, coming up to surface once again. It's been three months since he's seen Marta, Tenebrae, or Richter. To say he was feeling really alone would be a bit of an understatement. It was like Luin all over again, only minus the bullies and constant glares; he didn't have any friends here]

I guess... You, really wouldn't mind being my friend though?

I already said we're friends, didn't I? Why would I say that if I minded?

[It seemed pretty simple to him. Then his smile fades and he searches Emil's face]

But... do you mind?

[He was the one who had killed Emil's parents. Would kill them. Maybe. He still didn't know what to think about that, except guilty and even more determined to change the way the future happened. But would Emil want to be friends with the guy he saw kill his parents?

It was like Chocolat all over again...]

I-...

[He wants to say that he doesn't but he stops mid-sentence. Now is not a good time to blurt whatever just comes to mind. Still, how was he supposed to answer that when he didn't even know himself? He wants to believe that Lloyd won't end up like the one he knows, the one that killed his parents but-... Is he really that desperate for a friend, someone he could talk to?

Plus, there was still the Ratatosk-Mode that he was a bit nervous about. He could've killed him and hurt Sheena and Zelos too, or worse. Even if Lloyd was giving him a second chance, it was one he didn't think he could hold up to be honest, even with his encouragement... A few definite differences between the Lloyd he knew and the one he was talking to right now constantly coming to mind.

Amidst all his thinking though, it almost looks like he forgot to reply back but--]

... The Lloyd as you are now, m-maybe not so much.

[That's all he can bring himself to say, no promises. It's a no promise type thing but it's all he can do right now]

[Lloyd nods, understanding, but it doesn't stop his smile. He spreads his arms wide, gesturing.]

Then I'll just have to continue being myself. I think I can manage that.

So, friends? For now?
