[No words escaped Rise's mouth as the dream ended. Her mouth was dry and it takes a while for her to collect herself once more. Noireau, who slept at the foot of her bed that night, crawled up by the girl in an attempt to comfort her. Even the Malamute knew that something was amiss.

Finally, Rise gathers herself enough to place a call on Lloyd's Dreamberry, stroking the dog all the while to keep her calm.]

Lloyd? What's... what's going on?

Rise?

[Even though he knows it was a dream, it is so relieving to hear her voice.]

Nothing. It was just a bad dream. [Still, he can't keep from asking...] Are you all right?

Yeah, I'm fine. [A pause.] Sorta.

Seemed like way more than a bad dream to me...

[Damn it, did this thing broadcast his dream to everyone?]

It was just a dream. I won't let it happen. I wouldn't hurt you like that, Rise, I swear.

[She believed that he wouldn't. He just didn't seem to be the type... But that was what she thought too before she and the rest of the Investigation Team found out who it was who had been causing all the murders around Inaba.]

I know. But it's just not the kind of thing you can shake off easily, you know?

Yeah. I guess not. [He's having a hard enough time shaking it off himself, and he's not the one who "died."] Do you want to skip hanging out for a while?

Yeah, that's probably better right now...

[He can't help but feel a pang of disappointment, even though he's the one who suggested it. Still, he just nods.]

Okay.

Just give me some time, okay?

[Noireau lets out a small aroo from where she's settled. She doesn't like it when her owner's upset. Rise shushes her before looking back at the Dreamberry.]

I guess I'll see you some other time then.

[It's something, at least. He manages to offer a smile, even if he doesn't feel it all the way right now.]

Yeah. All right. I'll see you around, Rise.
