[A blur of red and black and a startled yell are the first things the Dreamberry picks up. The Dreamberry clatters as it hits the ground, the view spinning crazily, followed by a sharp thud and a low groan from somewhere off to the side.]

Ow...

[There's a soft scuffling as the speaker picks himself up off the ground, then...]Man, talk about a ( Read more... )

*Hi. Have someone who looks bored enough to have nothing better to do than to call people with intensely important and helpful information. For example:*

It's called a dreamberry. You use it like a cellphone.

[Oh so very helpful except for one small problem.]

What's a cellphone?

Uh... *Oh. Well, not the first time he's seen this.*

It's this thing you use to talk to people who're far away.

Oh, I get it! I think I've seen something like that before. Only this is a lot smaller than that, um, hollow machine. It's magitechnology, right?

Uh--it might be?

I mean--normally I'd say no, but normal technology from my world doesn't do the whole 'dreams' deal.

I don't think mine does, either, but magitechnology's more of Tethe'alla's thing. Or Professor Raine's. I bet she'd know, but I'm not sure I'd want to ask even if she was here. [The idea that Danny probably doesn't have a clue what he's talking about hasn't occurred to him just yet.]

*He's making a vague guess about 'magitechnology', but his following assumptions that Tethe'alla is a person, and that Professor Raine is both a cross and overly-dull teacher might be a little shakier.*

If my friend Tucker were here, he might be able to figure out something. And he'd be able to explain it without totally putting us to sleep.

[Not so off on the second one, Danny, but the first... Yeah,. Not really. :3;] Really? Man, I wish the Professor could do that.

I'm Lloyd, by the way. What's your name?

Heh, I wish all my teachers could do that.

I'm Danny. Good to meet you.

Teachers? You have more than one?

Yeah, nice to meet you, too.

Uh... Yeah?

Don't you?

Nope. Professor Raine's the only teacher in Iselia.

Wow, I don't know whether to pity you or envy you. You have more teachers, but you don't have to spend all day with just one.

I could say the same to you. You only have one teacher, but you also don't have to dash from class to class. *Or bullies, but that's less of a 'different worlds' thing than it is 'why does he have to be so much taller' thing.*

You have to go to different rooms for each class? Ugh. I have a hard enough time just getting to school on time. If I had to be on time to more than one class... and with more than one teacher...

[He'd never get out of detention.]

Me too!

And yeah, that's a major problem. I've gotten so many detentions for that, I'm not even laughing.

[Lloyd groans.] Nnggh... Detention... [He pauses, looking at Danny for a moment, then gives him a wry half-grin.] Nice to know I'm not the only one.
