So I have a friend that is not at all into fandom, though she knows I am. Recently, she's made an effort to watch Doctor Who, as another one of our mutual friends likes it, and she wants to understand our interest

You guys are awesome. think it's super awesome when people can engage in critical thought on things they like instead of getting all defensive.
Nothing pisses me off more (applicable to other things besides Who, of course) to someone responding to the pointing out of blatant sexism with something like "it's just sci fi" or "Well, but he writes good plots, so..." as if that negates it.
I shared with her one of my Moff favorites, as there's just so much wrong with it in such a compact space:
"There’s this issue you’re not allowed to discuss: that women are needy. Men can go for longer, more happily, without women. That’s the truth. We don’t, as little boys, play at being married - we try to avoid it for as long as possible. Meanwhile women are out there hunting for husbands.
The world is vastly counted in favour of men at every level - except if you live in a civilised country and you’re sort of educated and middle-class, because then you’re almost certainly junior in your relationship and in a state of permanent, crippled apology. Your preferences are routinely mocked. There’s a huge, unfortunate lack of respect for anything male."
TBH, I think my "favorite" part at this point is the "civilised country" part. I would very much like to know which countries Moffat counts as civilised and which ones are uncivilised barbarians.
Well, I think it's a nice partner to his quote about how the two Amys in the Comic Relief sketch was what every "red blooded male" really wants. Because you're only a Real Man if you're straight and dig fake lesbians performing for you.
I can't believe there are people who defend this jackass. BUT HE WRITES FANTASTIC TIMEY-WHIMEY PLOTS YOU'RE TAKING HIS QUOTES OUT OF CONTEXT

And finally, my roomie and her college friends had this expression, "feminist frills," which pop out when you read things like this and it's this:
THANK YOU FOR SHARING. I actually feel like I get what's happening on the show now. Which is blatant misogyny, is what's happening. WOMEN GET MARRIED AND HAVE BABIES! IT'S JUST WHAT THEY WANT TO DO!

OMG, best gifspam ever. <3
I especially love Bowie's cravat, it is the perfect accessory for his "you are worthless" stare. And I have never seen a longneck man be so saddened. And feminist frills! I am giggling at the dinosaur because I know EXACTLY HOW IT FEELS. That's a startlingly accurate reflection of how I react.
I want to rescue Amy and River. Amy can hang out in the Buffyverse and be BFFs with Dawn. River is going to Cowboy Bebop to have a hot affair with Faye.
And it's every time he opens his mouth. EVERY TIME. His comments on the Comic Relief sketch were all skeevy comments on two Amys and that's what every red-blooded male wants. JUST STOP TALKING PLEASE.

Also, since the comms I frequent are not particularly gif friendly, and I never get to use my gifs, here is the progression of my reactions every time Moffat says something horrible:
