I am in it. After nearly 24 hours of travel I finally made it to Buenos Aires. I've seen a circus-tango show and had (this is very important) ice cream. Yay vacation.
The circus show was fantastic (and safe! and made me want to go back to classes!) and the ice cream as well, though I think I need to try as many more flavors as I can before I really have an opinion... Upcoming plans include an ecological reserve, a tango orchestra, the world's largest Japanese garden outside of Japan, circus class, and milongas. Anna's cat hasn't killed me yet.
It's really nice being in a country where I know the language. One where I'm a semi-native speaker. But man oh man, has my Spanish gotten atrocious from atrophy. So many years of having non-Spanish speaking friends and talking to my parents in English and I can't even conjugate verbs right. SIMPLE verbs! I am embarrassed when I talk to people here.
I still don't really have a sense of the city yet, but I'm just glad to be away. From home and the US. It is, however, super hot and sunny, as opposed to back home where there was a blizzard warning when I left.
I accidentally ate some chicken filled pasta sauce. Who puts chicken in pasta sauce?
Also, guess what pyscho brought their tablet with them so they could PS on the plane? I mean, what else am I going to do on a 10 hour ride? It certainly kept me entertained, if constantly peeking around me to make sure no one could see what I was doing. Not that I was working on anything sexy, I just felt like a weirdo.
For the latest group of manips I'm playing with, I consciously tried to pick things I thought would be easy, but every single of them requires major, major body transformations. Subtle major transformations. So it's been very informative, and I get to practice Liquify, which I need practice in anyway. Steel was watching me work on something (I think I was putting a suit on a Ten pic) and she was all "Why do you even bother using base pictures when you change every single part of the image?" Heh. Because it's more fun that way! And, you know, Nine gives me more leeway but TEN ALWAYS NEEDS THE SUIT. ;)
Steel and I finally finished Season 1 of Torchwood, which was very hit or miss. Finale however, was fantastic. I still don't understand why so many people hate Gwen and think she's a Mary Sue. She's got a few Sue-ish moments, but they're not so bad. Plus, character-wise, I absolutely loved her going batshit crazy in the finale. The actress who plays her did a fantastic job of making her super creepy.
I may very well have a new job. I really can't tell if it's 100% certain yet. Whee! This would be a very good thing. When this trip almost got canceled because of weather related shenanigans I literally almost cried at the thought of having to go back to work the next day.
