Manips!: Ten/TenII and Ten/Rose/TenII
So I didn't really expect to have two more manips up after posting last month, but that was before I somehow stumbled into modding the Tencestfest. Yikes. Ten/TenII and Ten/Rose/TenII, both teen rated- the Ten/TenII one has shirtless boys, and the Ten/Rose/TenII one has everyone fully clothed.

Notes:
Like I mentioned above, both of these were for a ficathon, and both of them were turned in late. I suck at finishing manips quickly, and deadlines make me panic. But I got them done eventually? Also, both of them seem to have a red/orange theme going on. It wasn't intentional, but since I was working on both of them at the same time, I'm guessing I was in a similar "mood" for both of them...
Ten/TenII:
So this one wasn't terrible to work on. I originally was going to try for a sexier image, but the image I was working with was giving me difficulty, so I switched to this one. Then I still thought I could make it sexy, or have them about to kiss or something, but none of that worked out either and it somehow ended up with them being ridiculously (hopefully not obnoxiously) cute. Sorry smut lovers, they just wanted to cuddle. Anyway. The pants were kind of a pain, but I think they look okay? And I had to beef up the dudes a bit as they were too skinny, and one was a bit too short. I also replaced Cloen's hair and Ten's arm. Cloen's face is worse quality than everything else, and I couldn't mask that completely, unfortunately, and I really wanted to use that pic. Despite
eloriekam's valient efforts, I couldn't get Ten's chest hair to David Tennant accuracy, (His chest hair is really weird, okay!) though I tried. And then, of course, a lot of shading and some TARDIS in the background because I will slap a TARDIS background on everything if you let me.
Ten/TenII/Rose:
Oh man, this manip seemed like it was going to work, then tricked me into being impossible once I was halfway through. Luckily for me,
wildwinterwitch was very patient with me turning this in late! As I mentioned, this is a companion piece to her lovely fic Five Senses: Taste. Although the story had a lot of great moments, one of my favorite head-images was of them all in the kitchen, sharing fruit and making out with each other. The idea of the tastes of each other mingling with fruit was one I really liked, so I went with that, and tried to capture the sort of sensual yet playful vibe of that. I did end up taking some artistic liberties: the Doctors are in their suits instead of in pajamas and Rose holding a pear instead of a banana- although the Doctor was the one eating the pear, I find pears to be a much sexier fruit, and it went with the image better. Rose I didn't do a ton to- she was way too fancy, so I covered up her sleeveless dress with a tank top, removed her sparkly bracelet, and softened her eye shadow. I also ended up using a different face from the same photoshoot because it ended up working better. Ten wasn't too terrible either- I made him a bit taller, and added his suit using a displacement map. I then got to Cloen, and was completely flummoxed. I had a terrible time finding an appropriate face, all the ones I picked out failing in execution. The original pic had someone leaning their forehead against Rose's head. However, once I made TenII the proper height, that didn't work the same way, and the arms didn't either. And the displacement map was fighting me because the fabric didn't have enough definition. So I ended up modifying his body a billion times, and I'm not entirely pleased with how it came out, but
jer832 talked me off a ledge when I thought it was doooomed. The original image was very glossy and dramatically lit, so I tried to mirror that in the two Doctors. I 100% admit that some of the shadows are there because they take my mind off the bits of the image that were making me twitch, but I also wanted to give a soft, warm feeling. I added a bit of a yellow-orange wash over the whole thing at the end.
