So this whole mess with the changes to LJ...
The changes themselves don't bother me so much, because change is inevitable, but I've been very disappointed with the response of the LJ staff. Basically, one of the heads of the company has been mocking users unhappy with the changes, and being a asshole about it very publicly. This is apparently a pattern for LJ staff. DDoS I can deal with, but treating your customers like crap just because you can is something I'd rather not support.
With that in mind, I'm setting up a dreamwidth mirror at redcirce. Nothing up there yet, as I'm waiting for things to calm down a little over there (apparently they got 20K new accounts in 24 hours, yikes!) but I'm hoping to eventually crosspost. I know, like, no one is over there currently, and I'll still post stuff here, but I'd really like to start supporting a company that actually cares about their customer base. FYI, you currently don't need a code to join up, and it is apparently pretty easy to import your entire journal and set it up to crosspost.
Feel free to add me, and if you're already there under a different username, please let me know so I can add you!
