Fuck Jane Austen
You know? I tried to like her, I really did. I'd seen clueless, so i tried to read Emma. Couldn't stand it. Saw sense and sensibility, figured it was silly, but I would try to read it anyway. Hated it after a chapter. I think my main problem is

I have roughly the same problem with her that I have with Hemingway. They both talk for pages and pages about Fat Ass ordinary rich fucks sitting on their bottoms. The Difference is Hemingway has his characters drink all day and complain that their too stupid to get laid, all the while demeaning women. Austen has her characters dance all day and complain that they're too stupid to get married, all the while demeaning Men.
I think that, if it were chronologically possible, these two most famous writers should have gotten together, eaten, drunk, danced, married and fucked. They would have completed their own hero arcs, not leaving the world with their empty dreams.
Nevertheless, I'd still feel guilty and incredulous if I didn't read one of her novels all the way through. Supposedly Westminster abbey is The Gothic Novel, but I'm a third of the way through and frankly, her ghosts have shit for brains. and don't know how to manifest properly
Whatever, complain complain. At least I have some Bronte to look forward to.
