Once upon a time, a girl had a teacher who sent her a computer guide to easily insert foreign language accents. It should have been, in theory, very helpful. Unfortunately, when the girl tried to use this helpful guide, nothing would work. It continually messed up her computer screen and rearranged the other things she had already typed, or simply did nothing at all. She was slightly angered. She tried several different ways of perhaps getting the guide to work for her, but all to no such avail. So. She screamed and ran away instead, becoming increasingly frustrated with the fact that her internet would not work for her either.
Then, her internet pretended like it was going to work, and the girl became very excited. It was so close to working for her… and yet, she just had this sense of doom that it would not. Then, the log-in screen appeared! Her hopes lifted. She quickly typed in her log-on name and password, fearful that the correct process of internet web pages would not last for long. She hit enter, and waited anxiously. Alas, the ‘operation timed out while trying to contact …..’ She did not give up hope. She tried again. She had gotten this far, she was not going to give up yet.
The internet was still not bending to her will. The girl stood forcibly up and threw a pillow or two, hoping to relieve her stress. It did not work. She returned to her seat, grasping for composure. She tried to connect with her e-mail account… one… last… time. The waiting was excruciating… she knew that everything was riding on this one last click.
It connected.
Suddenly, the screen began to appear, there was no error message… and the whole screen loaded. ‘Please retype your password. If you do not have a password, you can get one here.’ The girl was close to tears by this point. All she had wanted was a simple internet connection! And now it seemed she would never get what she needed…
