Catalina's room is a rather simple place: a large comfortable bed, a couch, walk-in closet, a screen for dressing or clothes-changing and thick soft carpet on the floor

"I decided to keep a part of my fortune here. Just in case." Cat smirks and nods, closing the door behind them and walking to the chests.
She might not be worried about security, since the keys are hanging on the wall. "Come on..."
She unlocks and opens the first chest, sitting right on top there is a beautiful, intricately decorated tiara set with small but brilliant blue diamonds. Under it, there is more jewelery.
Lucy Diamond's passion is, well, diamonds. The tiara practically pulls her to it. "Oh wow..." The numbers run through her head automatically, but this is not the sort of piece one sells. Bad Lucy, it's not yours.
Oh yeah, also other gems. So much sparkly stuff...
She checks surreptitiously to make sure she's not drooling. "You've certainly got me beat as far as what you've got on hand." She looks admiringly at Catalina, once she tears her eyes away from the gems.
Cat gestures her to go ahead. "Feel free to look, and touch, and try on. I don't believe beautiful things are only to be watched..." She might be using just a bit of double entendre there.
There are many other things there... A beautiful tiara highlighted by a large sapphire in its center, a fancy comb made of platinum and decorated with rare gems, a gold crown with delicate decorations (and more diamonds), a beautifully designed brooch set with garnets, a wide, heavy, solid gold bracelet set with (again) diamonds, rings set with large emeralds, rubies, sapphires or (guess what?) diamonds, a scepter with a huge ruby size of an egg at the top...
Lucy actually giggles like a little girl. The tiara is even heavier than it looked, and the blue diamonds make the light dance in the most delightful way. It doesn't occur to her to put it on, because everything she picks up reveals something more impressive beneath.
"Gold makes the most beautiful sound, doesn't it?" Tinkle tinkle. Lucy is fully distracted by shiny things. Occupational hazard.
Lucy smiles crookedly, feeling a little ridiculous wearing the finery, but... kind of cool too. The second box is just as awesome as the first, and as she watches Catalina dig through the riches, she realizes just how close they are to each other, in more ways than one. Her grin widens further.
The only thing she could come up with was an Eastern curse word peculiar to her family, but it sounds like a prayer and her hypnotized state had her holding it up to the light like a magical device.
Cat grins proudly. "I intercepted a turkish merchant that was heading to Istanbul from the Diamond Coast in Africa. This one was supposed to become part of Suleiman's crown jewels." Really, a jewel fit for a king or queen.
Big fuck-off diamond. That's about all that comes through to poor Lucy. Half her brain is all "Sparkly!!!" and there's another large part thinking about the diabolical machine that could be created around this ...
The last part of Lucy's brain firmly reminds her that there is another person in the room and she snaps out of it. Mostly.
She flushes and smiles lopsidedly at Catalina. "Impressive. I've never seen anything like it. Sorry about the trance." She hasn't moved to hand it back though.
"Oh, I am glad I opened the strongbox where it was while away from the rest of the crew. I think it would be a too rough test for their loyalty." Cat laughs, shaking head. "You look even nicer with the sparkly things..."
That wiped a bit more of the trance from her head and she laughed a little self-consciously. "Back home I'm more likely to use such things to power a laser gun than wear them. They'd suit you far better. Especially with that hair."

She will take care of having Lucy try things, setting the crown on her hair, slipping the gold bracelet on her wrist, then a few rings...
"Oh, wait a second." Cat digs in for something. "This one is something to be seen close..."

HUGE DIAMOND.
"Uh-huh," she manages to say.

Immersed in pure water, it would be invisible.
Under the sun, it would shine bright enough to induce temporary blindness.
In any market, the jewel would be simply priceless.
Cat watches her with an amused smile...

She scoots closer. "But I still think you look very nice." My my... rather direct she is, hm?
