my undergrads are growing up
Today has got to be the most touching day in my life as an educator. Right after the final exams, one of my top students came up to me and hugged me, and thanked me for being there for her. And this evening, I received an email from another student thanking me for the career advice I gave her (she came in during my office hours to collect papers, we stopped to chat about her career goals and I ended up asking her a lot of questions and giving her advice), which she took to heart and has since changed her plans in order to meet her career goals. These two students are very driven and ambitious, and I sincerely hope they attain success in their respective fields. Just makes my day :)
