Whoa, i don't think i've seen an ex-leader of the free world go ape-shit ballistic before. I kind of liked it. And all he said is true, i'm not very old but I remember critics of his adminstration ranting at the time about how Clinton spent too much time following trails across the world. That he needed to concentrate inside and stop trying to solve issues in somalia, the middle east or anywhere else that wasn't the deep south.
I don't know why I like to see these things. A friend of mine says that when these things happen, be it Jon Stewart on crossfire, or william bennett being stumped on the daily show or even colbert snapping back at all newsmedia; all of this doesn't help supposedly. That it just feeds the divisive and confrontational discourse that we are embroiled in at this particular historical moment.
But i still like it, because as far as I see it, the democrats lose because they keep trying to seem nice and warm. They let the republicans be the bad guys, which is admirable but it does nothing to keep their message from being the only one heard. Regardless of who is right and/or wrong about this, its nice that we get to tell them they are wrong in a loud and clear voice instead of just hearing the wrong things repeated ad nauseum and hoping that someone else denies it.
Your friend is wrong. When the left comes back at the right with the truth either confontationally as Clinton did or comedically as Stewart and Colbert do it focuses attention on how much of the noise coming from the right is bullshit.
