SUNLIGHT HOORAY. I still haven't gotten dressed or left the house or anything, but the fact that I COULD and that the sun is shining through the windows makes me feel so much better.

Last night I ended up hanging out with my friend who lives in my building and I finally watched Jennifer's Body and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Both were better than I expected them to be. I thought Jennifer's Body did some interesting things with horror movie tropes, for all that I don't think it's as feminist as Diablo Cody seemed to want it to be. But Amanda Seyfried! ♥

As for Benjamin Button, the ONLY people who I know who like that movie are people who were living in New Orleans during Katrina, which I always found interesting. My friend (who also falls into that category) assured me that it was so good and that I'd be very moved by it. And...I don't know. I mean, I was very emotionally affected? (This despite finding the central plot more bizarre than anything). But that might have less to do with it being a good movie and more to do with how easy it is to emotionally manipulate New Orleanians wrt Katrina. But it was very pretty and more engaging than I'd been led to believe. And Cate Blanchett was, as always, stunning and amazing.

Tonight I am going to dinner and to see the Vagina Monologues with school friends. HOORAY HOORAY LEAVING THE HOUSE.

Here is that "What I've been blogging about meme." Some of it I totally understand. Lots of references to weather, New Orleans and Cobra Starship and I appreciate that Fall Out Boy, Cowboy Mouth and The Like are represented. But some of it I don't get at all, and I am slightly baffled/amused by the complete lack of Ryan Ross and the presence of RPatz. But okay, I guess.

ETA: Looks like The Like have a new keyboardist. She looks like she'll fit in well. :)
