I keep forgetting to say thank you to kita0610 for the card and murielle for the e-card. <333 They made me smile. (I love the LJ holiday card exchange so much).

Kita was one of the few people I remembered to give my parents' address to, and that lack of planning meant that most people had my address in Arlington, where I haven't been since Dec. 14 and won't be until Jan. 7. Oh well, holiday cards will be a cheerful thing to come home to.

I was debating doing that end of year meme, but I'm not really sure what to make of 2009. It was fairly even keel, especially compared to the upheaval of 2008. It wasn't a bad year; it was a good one in some ways - I have great friends, online and off, and I'm grateful for them - and a hard one in some others - this last semester was...difficult, and I'm not even totally sure why, though I know it had more to do with my headspace than with the classes themselves - but mostly it was a fast one; I still kind of feel like 2009 just *started* and I'm having a little trouble processing that its almost 2010 and a whole new decade. 2010 is probably going to mean upheaval again. Afterall, I graduate in May, and then who knows what happens after that. I certainly don't. That is partly kind of fun and partly terrifying.

Tomorrow will be the first New Year's Eve I haven't spent in New Orleans since 2003. I'm sad about that - New Orleans at New Year's is an experience and I miss my NOLA friends - but I expect it to be good times anyway. marenfic and southernbangel are saving me from an encore of this summer's pig roast shenanigans (once was enough for me!) and we're going to hang out and eat and drink and be fangirly and it should be pretty great. That's generally how I like to spend my time.

Happy New Year to all of you, flist. I hope it's a good one and that 2010 is a year of good things. ♥ ♥ ♥
