Wrt my last entry, I think I have found most of the places where there is currently political RPF/is going to be political RPF in the future. Well done, fandom! I knew I could count on you.
By the same token, does anybody know where I can find the good fake news RPF? Because I found the comms, but I don't like having to wade through everything and I know a few people on my flist used to be into that. Are there recs lists anywhere?
I have SO MUCH WORK. I needed a solid start on at least one of my major papers this weekend and I don't have that yet. It involves fandom and I really want to make this long navel gazing post about fandom and academia and how I feel about all that, but I don't have time to be navel-gazy. I don't really have time to be on LJ at all, but whatever. Here I am anyway. Procrastination! I spent last night until almost five am watching old Daily Show and Colbert Report episodes (hence the above request) and finally watching their coverage of election night. They both teared up - and that last scene, where they're up on the roof in the sun. Just. <3 As a few of you have said, I do wonder what happens now, though. I'm sure this administration will mess up enough that TDS will have things to skewer them for and TCR will probably have plenty to say; I can't imagine Stewart and Colbert not being funny, but it still won't be the same.
I spent most of yesterday with friends watching 80s movies and making Team Mike t-shirts for the Twilight premier. My friends here seem to approach those books with the same ironic glee that I do. I think the necessity of Team Mike t-shirts started out as a joke but, uh. We have them now! And they're covered in glitter and rhinestones. We also bought our tickets yesterday; wouldn't want to miss our opportunity to go on opening night.
