XF wasn't even the first deeply emotional entanglement I had with a show. That would have been Dark Shadows or, like, She-Ra when I was four, if you can have fannish responses that far back. It's always been *something* for me, but XF was the first time I was aware of fandom existing, that there were other people like me, even if I wasn't aware of the extent of the community and didn't participate in it.
It's still MSR in my head? You know, and my gut reaction to the word "shipper" is still Mulder/Scully. I mean, I "shipped" Krycek/Marita, but we called ourselves "skampers" because of how pairing specific shipper was. TIMES, THEY HAVE CHANGED.
Pusher is in my top five favorite X-Files episodes ever, maybe top three. And whatever, I watched FTF tonight to get in the mood. UGH, LOVE. Shut up, haters, you make it difficult to repress my bitterness.
And I'm with you, Anne. I could watch Mulder and Scully have coffee. The newspaper article assured me that the chemistry is just as good as it ever was, and that's what I'm in this for by now. I mean, it's been off the air for six years. I should be over it. But apparently I'm not. TOMORROW!!
