I have not seen the SPN finale and the torrent is not up, and I will not be checking my flist until I have seen it.
Last night I went to a Cubs game and ate horrifying baseball game food and drank beer until I thought I was going to explode. I've never really been much of a sports fan (except for the appreciation I have developed for the Saints, but I still don't know the rules of football. I just like it when New Orleans is better than other places). I do enjoy the ambiance of baseball games, though. It's the combination of beer, artery-clogging food and other people's enthusiasm. Given that combination, I'm pretty much guaranteed to have fun. It's hard not to get into it when everyone around you is that excited. Besides, I've been cheering for the Cubs my whole life, kind of by default. My dad's a big Cubs fan and I remember having a tiny baseball cap when I was like, three, and since I've never really bothered to learn much about baseball, they were pretty much the only team whose name I even recognized for the first fourteen or so years of my life. /o\
Tonight we went to see Eddie Izzard's show Stripped. He was not in drag, which I found disappointing, but he was hilarious. Most of the show was World Civilizations According to Eddie Izzard, with his usual ranting tangents. At one point he pulled out his i-phone and read the Wikipedia entry for assassination to us because he didn't think we'd believe him about the etymology.
I am no longer going to Minnesota, and I was thisclose to trying to get a ticket to the 5/23 Panic show, but I was good and didn't spend the money and I'm flying into El Paso on the 21st instead, mostly because I feel like I probably need to move off my brother's couch before his roommates actually want to kill me. One of them came in a minute ago and managed to start a conversation about The X-Files and fandom. After I ranted for about 20 minutes he looked kind of terrified and I was just like, oh, sorry. Six years later saying the word "X-Files" to me can still do that. *twitch* I forget how used to me my NM and NOLA friends are until I have conversations with people who aren't used to me.
ALSO: Empires show on Sunday. Is there anyone on my flist who is going to be there?
