Once again my internet was down all weekend. Hello flist! How are you?

So who wants to talk about Friday night television?

Between BSG and Torchwood, I still don't know what to do with myself.

torchwood, bsg

Gah. I know. Way to break my heart, Torchwood. I sort of expected Owen with his zombieness and everything. I'm not saying I'm thrilled about it, but it made sense. BUT TOSH TOO? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. At least they had good deaths?

Doesn't help with the feeling like shit, though. :(~~

No it doesn't. I was really pretty shocked that they actually went there. And God, how fucked up does Jack have to be after being buried for that long? Next season is going to be such an angstfest.

I don't think he was alive. He only lives if he has the requirements- I mean, he can drown, he can bleed to death. So under all that earth, there was no way he had enough oxygen once he died to come back. At least, not for very long?

I don't know, I don't get the mechanics or the meta of his physiology, and gods knows RTD will not explain it. But he would be literally MAD had he died and been reborn a billion times in 2000 years. I mean, Angel was all feral after, what? 500 years in Hell? And Jack came back speaking in full sentences. (And with his coat intact, but let's not mention that either...)

So. That is my wank.

Although I am all for Jack!angst next season because torture of my swirly coated masochists = FTW.

I like that wank. Because I was actually distracted by how functional and not-crazy he was. And by the fact that coat was intact, but, you know. Whatever.

There will be Jack!angst anyway. There always is. Sometimes I watch the "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" and it really occurs to me how much the immortality and Doctor-related angst fucked Jack up. Understandably so, of course. (And there were seeds of Time Agency related angst even then). For all that I have been known to complain about TW characterization inconsistencies, I think they've done a really good job with that - though obviously they had to give him more depth somehow once he had his own show.

Yea, I watch TW for Jack, the pain, the smut, and the love. Not for the plot. Which is good, because sometimes it makes my brain hurt if I think about it too much.
