and we're getting down till the sun's coming up
This is the first year since I moved out of the dorms that I haven't lived on the Uptown parade route, but I'm still close enough for it to be fairly convenient. Parades and rum, you guys! It's my favorite time of year. I went to parades last Saturday, and to Krewe De Vieux the Friday before that, but tomorrow the parade-going and Mardi Gras debauchery begins in earnest. (Though I still have to go to work on Thursday). The weather has been warm, if rainy, the last couple of days. I hope the warmth holds through the weekend.
What YOU ALL should do is leave me your addresses in this post so I can share the Mardi Gras spirit. Comments are screened. If you leave me your address, I will send you cheap plastic crap! But the FUN KIND of cheap plastic crap. Beads and doubloons and whatever the hell else gets thrown at my head from the floats. You should do this even if we don't talk all that often or if you just kind of lurk. I WANT to send you things! IT WILL BE FUN I PROMISE.
Anyway, I will either be fairly scarce through next Tuesday or there will be a rash of drunk posting. There is no way to predict which. (Either way I will not be absent completely, oh no. I have concerns regarding Panic tickets. I wonder if they are going to perform these *shows* stoned. I suspect that they are).
