Memes! Again!

Dec 20, 2007 12:58

I never do memes. Except for how I apparently do now. Oh well! My recent fannish behavior has been all kinds of new and different.

There's this one:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common, and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me, and I thank you for your interest in my words.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they enjoy the savory aroma of monkey brains a la mode."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

And there's this one:

If you had me under your command and could make me write anything, regardless of whether or not I know the fandom or if anybody even writes fic in that fandom and no matter how crack-addled it might be, what would you love to see me write?

I'm not actually going to write any of these (unless something strikes me), but I am curious.

Or alternatively just tell me something interesting. I don't care about the memes, I just need entertainment. Today I have snapped at two clients and the cox cable customer service rep for no reason except that they had the nerve to be on the phone with me. I have so many things that need to happen, but I am just READY TO BE ON VACATION NOW.

Four more hours! What are you guys up to?

ETA: It is raining and gross. I want to order Chinese food, but I always feel guilty making the delivery people come out in the raining and gross. I may do it anyway and tip a lot? IDK.

ALSO. There are apparently RIOTS downtown over the public housing situation. OMG, New Orleans. That's so not the kind of national exposure we need right now. EVERYONE THINKS WE'RE A MESS. This is because we are, but not as much of a mess as we look in the national media. Also, many of the comments to the nola.com article make me want to punch people. - Which seems to be the reaction I am having to many things today.
