adronai turns twenty-one today, which sort of weirds me out because on the one hand, little brothers should not be twenty-one because that makes me old. On the other, I've been waiting for this for AGES - ever since I turned twenty-one, actually, which feels a lot longer ago than it actually was.
SAM!! I know you are reading this even if you never comment. Twenty-one, darling. You now HAVE TO go to bars with me and you have no excuse to sit around drinking glasses of gin "martinis" in your apartment and acting like an old man. The first part of your present you have received already. (WATCH BSG. I WOULD NOT LEAD YOU ASTRAY). The second part is going to be beer. Lots and LOTS of beer.
I was going to celebrate this milestone by telling embarrassing stories about you to strangers on the internet, but I am somehow restraining myself. Besides, all my stories somehow make you look cool (like the one with Jack-damn, and our practical jokes as kids) or a little insane (like the self-cocking automatic crossbow or that thing with the machete. Or that other thing with that other machete. Or, you know, the potatoes and the sledgehammer).
You're my favorite, even if you are smarter than me and better than me at most things, and even if you do speak too many languages and know way more than anyone should about Ancient Greece. (Classical studies, Samuel? Seriously? You were supposed to have the real-world applicable degree so that one of us would have money. What happened to that plan? That was a good plan.) It is ridiculous how far apart we live. I sort of hate it. Happy Birthday! I can't wait to see you.

In other news, it is also
bhadrasvapna's birthday! Happy birthday, Jeannie!

In other-other news, my job makes me want to stab myself in the face and I feel kind of sick today, but I'm feeling really good about the fact that my lynnevitational fic will someday be posted. (It really was touch-and-go there for a bit). You guys have no idea how much of a relief that is. (Well, maybe those of you who have listened to the whining do). Once that's done I can think about something else, maybe even another fandom. *gasp* Ask me how many unfinished SPN fics are languishing on my hard drive. ASK ME.
