I drank too much beer during The Office because I'm trying to drink all of the Corona in the house before the limes go bad again. Of course, there should always be limes for the tequila, but I will not drink Corona without lime and I'll pretty much always drink tequila anyway. I should not buy Corona anymore because it's not that good, even if it ( Read more... )

Their psychic lines get criss-crossed. Different time-lines.

Cordy: "Omg, get out of my head!"
Sam: "Me?! You get out of my head!"
Cordy: "Look, I'm not the one who's pulling a distress beacon here. Whine whine whine."
Sam: *pointed look* "Excuse me? Look who's talking!"
Cordy: "Oh, bite me, psychic boy."

After the initial bitchery and shock ("What do you mean, IT'S 2007??!") they become friends. Whip fast piercing warnings when awake and conversations in dreams.

Cordy: "Oh god, don't do that again! Do you have any idea how much that hurts?!"
Sam: "Next time, I'm letting the bitch queen lawyer burn you to a crisp."
Cordy: "And you wanted to be one of them."
Sam: "..."
Cordy: "A lawyer, not a bitch queen. *pause* Though you've got that part down pat too."

It's a matter of days for Sam. Years for Cordelia.

Sam: "So... it's getting worse," talking about the visions and it's more a statement than a question, because she looks so frayed and small. A glimpse of the future to be, maybe (likely) and it's the more reason to find her. He panics when there's no twinge for a couple of days and says nothing while Dean breaks speed limits across three states to get to LA. When she just pops on the backseat, loud and clear ("Hey! Who's the hottie?"), he doesn't know if he wants to smack her or hug her. And it almost feels like he could. She cracks a wide smile and winks. "Got amped up."

He freaks for real when she tells him about the demonization though. "Listen to me, Cordy! Nothing good can come of it!" And the next time he sees her, her eyes are cold and mocking. Big round belly and she whispers next to his ear about fiery death. "My blood will anoint her. But you know all about that, don't you, Sam?" He barely gets Dean to pull the car off the road before stumbling out and vomiting on the ground.

It's no surprise when he finds records of her death. "Cordelia Chase. Beloved friend." His hands still shake.

She comes to him that night. "So... I guess you know what happened."

"Cordy. I'm so sorry."

She smiles then, shrugs. "Don't be. I'm not. I'd do it all over again. No regrets." And she means it.

"I won't be seeing you again, am I?"

"Naa. I'm going. Just one last thing to do."

She steps forward and kisses him. Not the wisp thin feather feel of ghosts, but solid and alive just for one moment. Gentle press of lips, soft and giving, her fingers caressing his cheek. His hand comes up and curls round her shoulder before closing on empty. "Take care, Sam Winchester," breathed next to him.

In the air lingers the scent of almond and honey.

The scent in his room the night he first dreamt Jess would die.

Err. Or something like that. Because I don't think this is exactly what you had in mind. o.O

Ohhhhh.

No. Yeah. Exactly like that. I don't know what I had in mind, but that's probably better. You win.

That is fantastic. I love your Cordy here, self assured and perfect and completely herself. And Sam, scared for her and in love with her also, because who wouldn't be?

Can't fault Sam on that one. I loved Cordy - and it was fun to finally try my hand at her. Thank you for letting me know it worked. ;)
