I have been working on this paper which will count for about 25% of my total grade in my YA resources class. I realize I am going completely overboard on the level of detail. This is fine for now, but maybe within 24 hours from now, I will tire of that and stop being so exhaustive.

I'm writing a one-year plan for a YA department in a library - complete with displays, summer reading program, programming, school visits, publicity, budget, space design, and collection development policies. Whew. I have many notes, and now I am whipping them up into a plan-like form. Right now I am making booklists for display ideas. I've done booklists/displays (well, not really DONE them, just written about them) for GLBTQ, sports, music, family secrets, poetry/free-verse novels, adventure/survival, and I'm just finishing up diaries/email/alternative format. If anyone has any creative display/booklist topic ideas, please, bring them on!

I really like coming up with ideas for these things, but I still don't know if I would actually want to WORK with teens in real life and implement all of my ideas. If I could become a YA librarian who never actually interacts with teenagers, that would be just perfect.
