Yes, that means there was bad stuff, but the good far outweighed the bad so I'll post the good first.
Friday night Jon got home from being out of town and then visiting new-baby-Anna in time for us to catch a 10:30 showing of the new Star Wars. No, it wasn't great. But it was good. And there were many good moments, and there were touches that pleased me, and I left feeling happy and sad about there being no more Star Wars.
We cuddled lots on Friday, just enjoying being together after his week out of town on business.
Saturday we slept in, ahhh...I love lazy weekend mornings. Then we got ready and headed out into the day.
We caught the 2 p.m. Padelford riverboat cruise out of St. Paul and enjoyed it a lot. Nice views and a fun time, and bad hot dogs and nachos for lunch. Afterwards we walked up the river a bit in the park.
We discovered a diner in a riverboat that just opened. They are called The River Boat Grill and gads I hope they make it. The interior is very diner - lots of plastic and stainless steel. They are on the river just off the parking lot for the showboat. The prices are diner-cheap and the menu is diner food. We got a tour of the place, and the owner was very nice. Unfortunately it was 4 p.m. and we were still full from lunch less than two hours before. So we bought soda and thanked them for the tour.
We wandered up the river and eventually found 13 and followed it to Shakopee. We stopped several times at interesting-looking places. We had dinner at Turtles in Shakopee and then wandered up 101 towards home. We stopped and got ice cream at Edina Creamery Too in Minnetonka and took it to Parker's Lake to eat it. We ate it in the car watching the ducks on the lake, and decided it was too beautiful out to sit in the car any longer. We walked around the lake in the gathering gloom. It was great - I had missed "my" lake. Then it was homeward bound.
Once home we puttered on the computer and called it an early-ish night.
Sunday we didn't sleep in as late, but got up and I cut Jon's hair and he got ready and went off to his pool tournament.
I headed to Ikea and walked the store. Bought new bedding to match our new room, and a present for Cate's kids, and a new mirror (kitty broke the old one Saturday night) and found a print that works great in the new room, and managed to get out of there without spending TOO much. Then I went to Ann Taylor Loft and returned a birthday gift, spent a gift card, used a coupon and walked out with some very-needed new clothes.
Home again I started dinner and Jon made it home in time to join me. His team won, and so now they play in the city-wide tournament on June 11th and 12th. Yes, we were supposed to be in South Dakota then, but that can happen another time.
We spent the evening doing chores around the house, and then watched two more episodes of Sherlock Holmes (I will get it back to you Cheb!) before going to sleep.
