Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson is my favorite book - I keep it in my car and read passages in it when I'm stressed out. For some reason, it comforts me.

I wasn't a big fan of her other books, though. She has a livejournal account if you want to check her out: halseanderson.

i know, i love that book. easily in my top 5 books. ive read it so many times :) i havent read any of her other books, tho. i forgot she had an LJ, haha.
