Chapter 5: Chaotic Order Dragon (3 1/2 mths later)
Ryn watched Edward from the safety of the tall pine tree. Or at least, the relative safety of the tree. Pa-the-tic, a dragon like her trapped like a cat in the tree. Truly pathetic.
"WHO DID YOU JUST CALL TOO SHORT TO SEE OVER A SMALL BLADE OF GRASS!?!" Edward's enraged howl drifted up the tree to her sensitive ears.
Edward really needed to relax more about his height. But Edward was Edward, no matter what. The former Dog of the Military seemed to forget that sometimes...
"I didn't say that, Kid." said the gruff voice of the very big and hairy farmer.
"I'm not a kid!" the sixteen year old growled, glaring up at the 6'6" man.
"Jeeze, sorry. Didn't mean to offend you, kid." the farmer grumbled just a bit exasperated.
Fullmetal's glare grew stronger when heard a certain dragon's snicker filter down the tree. He barely kept himself from stomping his foot like a little child. He had just got through saying he wasn't a kid. He didn't need to act like one. "Never mind! Which way to the nearest town?"
The big farmer rolled his eyes and answered. "Continue down this road until you come to a fork in the road. Take the left road. And you should be in town within 30 minutes to an hour."
"Thank you!" chirped Ryn as she climbed down, "Say thank you to the nice man, Edward."
"Thank you." Edward nearly grumbled, and followed his skipping friend.
"You're welcome!" the farmer called out to the duo, "What a pair." and he returned his fields.

"You are so much trouble." Ryn commented from the bed by the window. "You really need to relax about your height, well your lack of."
"Be quiet, Ryn." he growled from his side of the room on the other bed.
The dragon giggled and pillowed her head on her arms. At thoughtful look crossed her face, but he missed it since he had his eyes closed.
"Ed?" the dragon stared at the spotted ceiling.
"Yeah, Ryn." Edward was studying the inside of his eyelids, not really paying attention to his friend.
"You never asked me..."
"Asked you what?'
"What kind of dragon I am." she replied as she sat up and leaned against the window seal.
That caught Edward's attention, he opened his eyes and sat up. Hanging his legs over the side of the bed, he placed his feet on the floor and leaned back on his arms. A curious and intent look was on his face. "What kind of dragon are you then?"
The young dragon took a deep breath and stared outside. Her head rested on her outstretched arm. "I am a Chaotic Order Dragon of the Reinguard Starbringer line. I am the daughter of Ryudo Starbringer. Granddaughter of Ra'jyn Starbringer."
"Chaotic Order Dragon?!" he repeated, his eyes wide open.
"Yeah.." she murmured out on a sigh.
"What's so special about being a "Chaotic Order Dragon Of the Reinguard Starbringer line"? Isn't a dragon a dragon?" he asked, totally interested in her answer.
"We are very rare. We are proud and vicious warriors loyal to those who we believe are worthy." she stated calmly, "We can control all elements: fire, earth, wind, water, ice, shadow, light, and astral. We are also the few who can..."
"Can what?" Edward leaned forward, staring at the dragon's face.
"Hop dimension... Open portals to other worlds." she replied softly, knowing what she was revealing and how it was going to affect her friend.
Edward lunged to his feet and stumbled across the small distance between the two beds. Falling on to the dragons bed, he reached out his hand to grab her shoulder. He turned her to face him.
"...Open portals... to other worlds?! That's what you said, right? My ears weren't playing tricks, were they?"
"That's what I said. But it's not a guarantee, though. I'm a young dragon, not as experienced as my Papa or my Grandda. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. And sometimes I can't hop dimensions until I do whatever I had to do in the current world I landed in. But I'm not really controlled by Fate/Destiny. I am too chaotic."
"And yet, there still is a chance..."
"We'll try, Edward. We'll try..."
