wow. sweet sweet journal. boy have i got a lot to tell you.
first things first.
raegan was born. yup thats right. raegan racquel wood. born October 8, 2007 at 5:12 pm. 6 pounds and 12 ounces (no small potato by any stretch). and 20" long
so im a daddy now. breana is a proud and amazing mommy. we are doing very very well, and we just love our little raegan to death. even though she sure keeps us both very very busy.
all of raegans grandmas and grandpas are so happy that she is with us finally. and kyle is a very proud uncle. an uncle at 11 years old! imagine that!. and my parents- grandparents at the age of 42!!!! thats young to have the title of papal and meemaw. my mom insists on being called meemaw. we will just have to see how well that sticks.
ok and the next big news. i got a new job. a pretty good job. im a machine operator. i work at michigan production machining. 23 mile and romeo plank. its a pretty good job, i run a big huge cnc machine ( a mill specifically). that cuts holes in these car parts and then i take the parts out and check them to make sure the holes are the right size and in the right place. and then i load the next parts in. the hard part about this job though is the long long long hours. i chose 2nd shift when i got hired which means i make 50 cents more an hour then the first shift because my shift is 12.5 hours and theirs is 11 I think. but anwyays 12 hours a day. 6 or 7 days a week.4:30p, until 5am. and on a normal week of working 12 hours, at 8:30pm on thursday night I hit 40 hours, and everything after 40 hours is overtime. i get paid 1350 an hour for overtime i believe it is. and that is what i really work for, just to get past that 40 hours. cuz its a hell of alot easier to work for 12 hours knowing youre making that kind of bread. anyway so thats that.
aside from working aside a good number of foreigners from what seems like mostly india or southeast asia (bangladesh etc.) and working long hours its a pretty decent job and im proud to go to work everyday and face my responsibilities as a father and bring home the money that my new family needs me to bring home to live comfortably. I can tell you this much, my daughter will never have to go without anything that she ever needs in this lifetime, not as long as im still breathing and able to work!
and last but not least . we bought an apartment. its in richmond on dow street. dow is off howard and howard is right off main so if anyone ever wants to come visit us, its really easy to find. we moved in 2 weeks ago sunday. and i love it, its only a one bedroom but essentially theres only 2 of us not counting the baby. its all we need for now. we got a 1 year lease so next year if we still want to live here we can get a 2 bedroom if we need it. 400 a month. and that is cheap. look in the newspaper, and tell me how many listings you see for nice clean, big, and quiet apartments for that price, probably zero! we scored big on this place. and in totally irrelevancy i got comcast to come hook up the internet , phone, and digital cable for 100 dollars a month, so all there is ,is comcast, rent, and dte bill and thats it.
ill try like hell to post some pictures of our little angel as soon as i can figure it out, can someone please comment me instructions on how to post pictures please?? that would be very appreciated.
