Finished off a Viking knit piece last night. This one was inspired by something I did for Kriski about a year ago. She has told me I should make more, but I hadn't done it yet. Part of it was not having the inspiration, part being worried that since I haven't sold any Viking knit in a long time then what is the use of making more pieces to sit around and not sell. It is a wrap-around bracelet, 26 gauge gold coloured wire in a double knit, with 7 small jade chips with small brass washers between them on a piece of 18 gauge wire at either end. Pictures to come later. I haven't costed it out yet so not sure what it will go for. But I do know I used 55 feet of wire!
I've decided I need to create & want to create and if things sell, great. If they don't oh well. I can hope that I make things people like enough to buy, and that the economy picks up enough for people to be willing & able to buy them. I've also decided that I'm going to be more fair to myself for the pricing. I'm probably not going to cover my full time still, but I'd like to cover more than 1/4 of it I am doing on some pieces right now.
So with that said, I've started another piece tonight. It is going to be a necklace. I'm using 26 gauge metallic dark blue wire. I have a Czech glass button with dark metallic blue shiny bits & a matte yellow background. I'm not 100% sure what I'll do but have some ideas & would like to push the envelope & my comfort level a little bit with this one so we'll see.
It's officially past midnight here, officially 1/1/14. May you all have a blessed and prosperous New Year, filled with love & joy.
