I worked on the SS VK commission piece yesterday & today & it's officially done, packed in its box and ready to go to work tomorrow. I'm hoping it isn't too small, it seems so small but it is slightly bigger than the wrist size-gauge I made. I'm not overly thrilled with the dolphin clasp. It seems hard to do & fiddly to me, but then I tend to like larger clasps. We'll see what she says tomorrow. Hopefully she'll like it!
I won't post these on FB until after I've given it to her tomorrow (since I've got coworkers on there and I want her to see it before they do), but you guys get to see it now.
Here are the materials assembled for the bracelet. This is after I've knit it so the wire is about 1/2 of what it was when I got it.
Here is the actual knit, just off the tool & before it's drawn into smaller, more compact knit.
And the finished piece:
Here is a side-by-side comparison of 2 different 24 gauge double knit sterling silver bracelets. Mine is on the outside, I drew it to about 8mm. Jing's commission that I just finished is on the inside and is drawn to about 6.5mm. She didn't want it drawn as much as the bracelet I did for our team leader (which was to about 5mm) but didn't want it as thick as mine.
Hopefully she likes this one and it fits her! I think I've got enough sterling wire to do 1 more bracelet. I don't have the sterling caps or clasp, but it's always something I can either pick up from the Beadhold online (costs a lot being NZ) or Beadaholique in the US (cheaper but some shipping costs so need to get them on sale).
