My Relay team got together and gave me a card and a gift card to one of our large bookstores here. :) That was so sweet and completely unexpected, completely unnecessary too. It seems like people really had a good time this year and that makes me happy.

I'm kind of surprised, I didn't really do anything too different this time around other than pushing people to wear costumes. I think the good weather had a part to play in it, that tends to put a positive spin on things! I don't know. This was my 3rd year as captain so I can imagine the first year wasn't quite as smooth as under the old captain but wasn't too bad (I thought). 2012 didn't go through because of weather so .... maybe people just had a good time.

I've got people interested in 2014 already, some who didn't participate this year. I've got an article going up on our work intranet about our Relay and a kind of "thank you" for our supporters so hopefully that will raise some awareness and get people interested in Relay for next year.

Today was really really busy & I'm feeling stressed about some big changes--moving to a new office namely. We've got an external group coming in to help us "Defrag"--IE get rid of our stuff. Nice but piss off. And we get told to "not be too sensitive" tomorrow. I accumulate a lot of stuff, I'm using some of my notes regularly. But I don't appreciate having to severely condense it all and be told by someone who doesn't know the job what I can and can't take.

We aren't allowed to have food or drink or anything personal at all in the new building. Supposedly have a monitor for a month to make sure we don't. Fuck that. I don't do sterile. I do organic.

We'll see how it goes. For now, bed time! And I can't wait for my time off next week, hopefully the nice weather will stretch a little bit longer and then the farmers can have their much-needed rain!
