herlander_refugee posted this very important appeal. It's a call for help from the Sioux Nation to help them get money to buy Pe'Sla. This is a very sacred place to them in the Black Hills that will be put up for auction on 25 August. It's where they perform some of their religious rites.
This is a legal sale but once sold, the land will probably be developed and will be out of their reach. They can't afford this on their own. After how many treaties have been broken and their sacred lands taken away in the past, they can't afford to loose this too.
They need $1million US. They are at $86,490 at their IndieGoGo page, with only 5 days left. They take as little as $1.00. Every little bit helps. They have perk levels but most perks don't come with anything but a thank you. I'm fine with that, I'd rather they use all their money to buy the land than something for perks. You can also donate a different amount than the perk level.
I believe this is very very important. The Native American tribes have had so much taken from them. They have lost much of their culture due to genocide & access to sacred and cultural lands. I know many of you are struggling financially so if you can't contribute please please signal boost so maybe someone you know or who they know can contribute. Post it on your blogs and your Facebook please.
