Just a few hours left that we can:
1) VOTE for our favorite icons in Round 6 of btvsats20in20; the deadline is tonight Jan 18th and there are still ties to be broken. Not that I mind tie-breaking votes this time around when the icons in question are so pretty to look at. (And not that I mind ties votes, either.) THANK YOU, dear. *blushes* I really am not happy with my Soft Glow entry, I look at it and see the flaws and how the glow could have been applied more subtly and I KNOW I could have done a better job on that one. That was really thrown together at the last minute. (But I only spent about a week on this set so technically the entire thing was "thrown together" this time.)
The recast icon OTOH could have been better but I couldn't get a better icon from that screepcap or any caps of Aly from the Breakfast club. It's the best i was capable of and i really tried, so the flaws in clarity don't bother me.
Which I guess is another aspect of all this - the harder i work on an icon the more likely I'll have developed an attachment too it, and the less likely I'll be objective about it's quality; the more puzzled I'll be that everyone else doesn't love it the way I do. Or vice versa with the ones I don't spend a lot of time on or love very much. (Like, the Joyce & Buffy icon I made for the last round of Slayerstillness - I made several alt versions, spent a lot of time on it and got teary-eyed about it. It didn't place; whereas the icons I spent the least amount of time on took 2nd and 3rd place. Still scratching my head about that but hey, I'll take it.)
At least you can blame the eye scratching icons on the fact that you were only using photobucket....what's my excuse?

PS looks pretty freakin' complicated to me anyway. (And comlodge assured me that PS elements is as different to full PS as ipiccy is.)
