SLOW LIKE A TORTOISE: Whilst I try to come back into the fandom swing of things...

...dashing off something fun and lighthearted always helps. Besides, it's time I came out of the closet, don't you think? I've added version #1 below to my Welcome Post but I also like the slightly paler "vintage" version (#2) and a bright rainbow one with and without (#3) the torn paper frame, as well as the original. I can never decide between ( Read more... )

I love Tara and Buffy as bestfriends and teen mums of Dawn too much. But I also like the idea of rare pairings. The rainbow version is kinda cute and also fits the possible ship because it would be all hearts and rainbows.

Unless you're kwritten (see her beautiful series "Blurring the Lines") or you're me and you try to write a B/T & B/S AU S6 fic in which Buffy thinks she's hiding everything but everybody knows, especially Dawn and Willow, and that goes way way angsty because - because it's me apparently. (No, I've never posted it. I might just though.)

Yeah ... unless that. So you're thinking about writing? And specifically writing about Tara/Buffy? (I'm kinda thinking about Thor/Buffy. Again. Ugh, I have so many feelings about blonde big bro/sis who are superstrong) S6 is a place of dispair but also so incredibly fascinating and I love some good Spike/Buffy as always.

Oh see there is very very little B/S in it - I've only written a couple of things that are B/S, one a dream sequence. I don't tend to write very shippy anyway, I tend to write "gen" but I don't know if I have B/S in me as a fic writer, I don't feel the need to. There is SO MUCH good fic out there already. I want to fill the corners and explore the stuff that's gone untouched (or urge others to do so, like the fabulous clockwork_hart1)

Oh yeah. There are things I'd change, things I disagree with (*cough*killing Tara*cough*) but beyond that I don't feel much need to make it "less angsty" because pain is such a familiar thing to me. Although I'd be all for Buffy getting therapy or for goodness sakes some quality girl time out with Tara, Willow, Faith and Dawn, just having fun. (Which means I'm actually thinking post series, since I just threw Faith in there.)

Personally I never felt/feel the urge to really change canon. That's why I write so much post-Chosen fics. If something has to happen is after, for me. The seven seasons are almost a sacred thing. (Except for character introspection in particular moment. Love that)

Eventually good luck with the writing!

We definitely share the same brain on this issue! (Except when it comes to a few things like Tara's death *grrr* or Anya not speaking up when Buffy fails to ask the Council for an income for herself. there are things that could have been done better, or differently, but I never end up rewriting it. I give other people like clockwork_hart1 prompts and let them do it. :)

But even with the hypotetical resurrection of Anya or Tara ... I would like to see those things happen after the canon. I really think that despite some imperfections the seven seasons are glorious. (And maybe those imperfections make the show even more lovely, because it's really human and nothing is perfect) Also the sadistic writer in me loves too much Willow's reaction to Tara's death and the tragedy of it.
