Post T-day musing

Lets see - made a lot of food for Thanksgiving, ate a lot of food, slept off the excess, had a fun weekend - a good rest and finally back to work.

I'll post the pictures I took of the Turkey, Apple Tatan, Mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and the broccoli-cheese casserole. Not to mention the pictures of everyone post feed.

Finally patch 8 has come out for COH - yeah can't wait to try out all the options in it. Spent most of the weekend playing NWN2. I like it - but with reservations. I have yet to play with the scenario editor but it will be interesting to see what can be done with it, how far the engine can be pushed.  There are a lot of good things about the game but some glaring little deficiencies that make me wonder how the hell it got out of beta test with out them being fixed.

It also annoys the help out of me when a company wants me to register and  wants more than a account name, password and email address. WTF do they need with *MY* address and *MY* phone number anyway?!? I am not about to sign up for ads from them and they had better not be selling the customer data to any one.

Made a great potato soup last night for amnesiacat, keltickefiwolf and worldforger, also some mashed neeps - turnips, carrots and parsnips for me and Gina. I'll need to work on the recipe a bit more - definely need to use cream not milk and more butter and salt n pepper for neeps than potatoes. On the other had they were colorful and tasty - just not faux mashed potatoes. I think the turnips would work better for a gratin or a hash. I suspect that they can not be made to be fluffy like potatoes.

Starting the downhill slide towards X-mas already. Uggg. I really like thanksgiving, but Christmas.... well that is another story. Getting to be such a pain a chore rather than a celebration. An obligation to be merry and give gifts rather than something you want to do.

Whining I guess but still its there. I hope that as we get closer to the date and I do some cooking and thinking - maybe things will get better. Maybe I will feel better

thanksgiving, cooking, holidays, coh
