Moped goodness

Though I give you guys an update since it has been a while here.

To be honest not that much has been going on. Pretty much work-eat-sleep. Last Thursday we celebrated keltickefiwolf birthday. I made eggplant parmensian (at her request) and a tropical carrot cake. While not perfect it came out pretty good. We even got isaiahwordsmith to come over for dinner.

I dinged 49 with my fire/fire tanker in City of Heroes. Looking forward to level 50 with him. Its been a long climb he has been one the first characters I made and stuck with. Man o’ War my blaster hit 40. He was the first character I ever made and has mostly soloed his way up the chain. Yeah he was a debt magnet but he the the first I made and I still enjoy dishing out the damage (one-shoting same level minions is fun!)

I also started looking at Sins of the Solar Empire. So far it looks very cool. Right now it is just a demo but if it pans out I may be picking it up. I like the fact that is it single / multiplayer. Something to do *after* you have beaten the computer opponents.

Finally this weekend we (myself and worldforger) got the throttle cable on Gina’s scooter replaced and was working on it only to find the spark plug was badly fouled. A leftover from when I was trying to start it but the fuel line was blocked. I’ll get a new spark plug this week and we will hit it next weekend. The really good news was that I finally broke down and read the manual that came with my scooter. In reading it I discovered that for a cold start I need to pull the choke ALL the way out and leave it there until it starts. Once it warms up its fine.

Grin - I just had to - I had a *moral* *imperative* even in the mist and cold, dressed only in shirt, pants and sandals to take the moped out for a spin. Just a spin around the block, and another spin, and one more just to be sure.

I must have looked like a fool with my hair wet and plastered back by the wind, my clothes damp and blinking away the rain on my face. But the grin I had....just to be riding again..that made it all worth while.

I’ll need to get some graphite for the locks on it (they were a little stiff) and perhaps a chain and lock. I know it can’t be started without the key. What I am concerned with is two big guys driving up in a truck and simply picking it up and off they go.

Also a helmet, or two is needed. An open and closed face helmet (with hot-rod flames!) and a parking sticker eventually. I won’t be able to drive it all the time but to cut down on gas costs even a bit will help, not to mention parking at work 10 feet from the door and just the shear fun of it.

Once we get Gina’s scooter running...anyone up to form a Lawrence scooter gang?
