Tuesdays...its always something about Tuesdays
Finally a chance to blog again. yeah. Work has kept me very busy (Tuesday is meeting day) Thinking about what I have done since last entry. Pay day came and went, but finances are doing very well. Its not been fun but really getting a handle on things now and that always feels REALLY good.
I was able to complete Step 1 to My Fiendish Plan to Take over the World! (actually no - wouldn't want to take over the world - waaaayyyy too many meeting involved for that)
But I did get a new and much more beefier power supply for my system. A 600 watt Xion with support for dual PCI-E cards, a silent 140 cm fan (its huge but you can't see it now) light up modular plugs, a black chrome finish and loads of connections. It runs cool enough and powerful enough that I feel good about putting the side of my case back on and not having the extra desk fan blowing in. I could even plug in some the extra lights and flippy bits for my case.
(Hmmmm custom computer cases = light brights for the geeky?)
We tried to have lunch on Sunday at Jack Stack or Olive Garden. Unfortunately, we have learned that when the parking lots are FULL and your stomach is EMPTY its not a good combination. We ended up eat at China Star at 95th and Metcalf. It was ~okay~, typical chinese buffet. Nothing you can't get here in Lawrence from King Buffet or Jin-Shan or Plum Tree.
Gina got some new jeans and was VERY pleased with herself at she had dropped a jean size or two (Don't ask me what size or what it means exactly. To me women's dress sizes are some sort of foreign code to make sure we men can never correctly purchase clothes for woman, thus necessitating the need for another shopping trip *with* them) Any how she is absolutely loosing weight, and that is marvelous.
Yesterday night I baked a pound cake and Gina chopped and sugared some strawberries for us to take over to keltickefiwolf and worldforger house to celebrate keltickefiwolf's birthday. (Again Happy Birthday!) Cake was consumed quickly (not bad for a mix) and we all sat around and talked, blissed out on cake and strawberries till it got late.
Our next big purchase is a set of new king-sized mattresses (current set is about 10 years old and is showing it) After that prepare for Gina's trip and Ren Faire and of course ackkk-ptuttt-spit taxes!!K:K@$^$^#&^&$:KKJ!
