still no sign of land

I survived the move. I used professional movers, which was A Good Thing. My very patient and caring friends helped me pack (did most of it, frankly, sigh). I finally got rid of the dead car in the driveway (long story there), and got X to take as much of his stuff away as he wanted.

More maundering here.... )

Same to you, lady. And thank you -- it does matter to me that what I write actually manages to have some meaning outside just dumping the psychic equivalent of refrigerator-science-experiments. I'd probably keep writing anyway -- it's not like I do this for any real reason or any specific person or purpose -- but it's good to know that someone else gets something (ghod knows what!) out of it. And apart from that, it's always good to know that my friends care. I've been having a rough time for, well, since mom died, really, and certainly it got worse when X moved out and then broke up with me. I am bloody sick and tired of hurting so much so often. Friends, however infrequently seen, make it somewhat more bearable.

There are, unless I've lost count, four people on my friends list who have asked that nobody connect their real names with their journals. That's not counting the ones whose real names I don't know. Discretion will continue to be provided and observed.

I am currently drawing trees, lots of them, for a map which will be appearing in the new book. It would have been nice if folks had told me ahead of time that they'd be using my actual drawing!

Yes, I will happily come over to keep company/help purge/whatever. In fact, wanna trade some childcare over the Christmas week for said purging/or whatevering?

Must go draw more trees.
