to drink for free or not to drink for free
I went out to a few bars tonight with some girls in my lab because it was one of their birthdays. I realized that I very rarely go to bars without Aaron, and this led me to an ethical dilemma...When is the appropriate time to tell a guy that you have a boyfriend? Do you blurt it out as soon as he introduces himself? I think not. Do you wait until he buys you a drink, or is that leading him on? I'd really like to know what the protocol is. I ended up not saying one way or the other but turned down a few drinks, which I guess is appropriate.
Also, living so far away from everything sucks sometimes. I love my apartment and I like being somewhat removed from the downtown craziness, but if I ever do end up drinking, I can't drive home and then I'm kind of stuck. Of course, an adequate public transportation system would take care of that but State College is not exactly a metropolis.
